Samsung seems to be cherishing quite ambitious plans to get a greater chunk of the tablet market.

Samsung has recently delivered the Galaxy Tab. Its sales are to start in a range of countries all over the world. The 7-inch tablet running Android’s Froyo has attracted lots of consumers who want, first of all to have something different from the iPad and what’s more are eager to have something smaller than the 10-inch tablet. 2 cameras, the Galaxy enjoys as well as Adobe Flash support make the device one of the most popular presents for this Christmas.

The Galaxy Tab is really standing out in the crowd due to its measurements and while Jobs is criticizing all other screen sizes except for that of the iPad, a 7-inch tablet has already found its target audience and seems to be enjoying the sales. But that’s not the end.

The management of Samsung Electronics Co. expects sales of their new gadget to reach about 1 million devices by the end of the year, which would be quite a strong start and a brave supposition. In comparison, so far Apple has already sold about 7 million of iPad devices all over the world and is not going to cut down the sales. According to some forecasts presented by the company’s representatives these figures are going to reach 11 million by the end of the year. No doubt, at the moment it is the unspeakable leader at the tablet market but who knows what will come of that just in half a year. The mighty may fall, too.

But that’s not the only strategic deadline Samsung is going to meet. In addition, the company has announced that it is going to deliver a range of other tablets of different sizes for different target audiences and different needs. It is really a nice decision from a consumer’s point of view as it would allow to expand the variety of gadgets presented at the market enlarging the choice available. At the same time the saturation of the market will inevitably lower the prices to the ultimate satisfaction of consumers.

To tell the truth, Samsung’s strategy is quite a risky one taking into consideration the uncertainty of the Android platform optimization for a tablet device. Despite quite misty recommendations, provided by Google’s representatives, the company has gone as far as to deliver Galaxy running Froyo. It is yet unclear what apps will be available for the tablet users and whether apps already created by Android developers and now displayed at the Android Market will be available for downloading. But all those nuances do not interfere people from buying a new device.
